Bruce G. Pullen Memorial Scholarship

The longstanding General Manager of TMECU Bruce Pullen believed in the importance of empowering youth to reach their full potential. With this in mind, TMECU has introduced the Bruce G. Pullen Student Scholarship.

Five $2000 scholarships to be awarded in 2019! This Contest is now closed. 

Who Can Apply?

TMECU members, CUPE Local 416, CUPE Local 79 and COTAPSA members and their dependents as of the application date who will be enrolled full-time in a publicly funded Canadian university or college in the September 2018/January 2019 academic term or a high school student that has been accepted into a Canadian university or college for the September 2019 academic term. 

How to Apply? 

The application process includes a 300-word write-up in response to the following:

One of the seven Credit Union guiding principles is "concern for community." As a young Credit Union member, what does this principle mean to you? Describe how you have acted or will take action in the future to positively impact your community.

A judging panel comprised of TMECU Board members and staff will be responsible for evaluating qualifying entries based on the essay responses. Essay answers will be scored based on the following equally weighted criteria:

  • Clarity of arguments
  • Grammar and spelling
  • Exhibits credit union philosophy
  • Potential positive impact
