TMECU's Online Application

You can now join TMECU online in just 10 minutes! Once completing the online application, you can also make your first deposit through our TMECU Mobile App without coming into branch!

Before you apply:

Our online application will take about 10 minutes to complete and requires that you meet the following prerequisites.

  • You are an employee of the City of Toronto, of one of its agencies, boards, and commissions or you are direct family member of an employee
  • You are a resident of Ontario
  • You are at least 18 years of age
  • You are not applying on behalf of a third party

What you will need to complete this application.

  • Your Social Insurance Number
  • Your employment information
  • A personalized cheque for $25 from you Canadian Financial Institution with your current address – this will help us confirm your identification and cover your membership shares.

After you complete your application.

STEP 1: Once you receive a confirmation email you will be able to receive your Personal Access Code (PAC). Call in to your local branch to receive your PAC.

Personal Access Code (PAC) – Your PAC is your personal access code used with Direct Services to access your Account. You cannot access online banking until you have been given a PAC. You have the ability to change your PAC to a code that is easy to remember when you log in.

Step 2: Download the TMECU Mobile App on IOS and Android and use your PAC number and member number to log in.

Step 3: To activate your account, deposit a cheque using our mobile app of at least $25.

  • Log into the TMECU Mobile App
  • Click the Deposit Anywhere Icon
  • Enter the amount of the deposit & snap a photo of the cheque
  • Press confirm

What to Expect After You Open Your Account

You will receive an email indicating you account has been unlocked within 2 business days. You will be able to use the TMECU Mobile App and Online banking to transfer your funds.

You will also be mailed a Debit Card (normally received in a week), and a separate letter indicating a pin code a couple of days later. You will be able to change your pin at any ATM in the ACCULINK® and EXCHANGE® Network.

Setting up Additional Services

Payroll Direct Deposit

Enabling this option will allow you to allocate your payroll to a TMECU account automatically. This will give you a full view of your cash flow with respect to each pay cheque.

Payroll Deduction

This is a convenient way to transfer a portion of your pay to a TMECU account. We can allocate the funds into various accounts depending on your personal preferences.
